Jane Crookham

September 19, 1941 — January 10, 2019

Jane D. Crookham, born on September 19, 1941, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019 after a struggle with cancer. Jane was born to Henry and Clara Hyde in Downers Grove, Ill. She graduated from Downers Grove High School and worked in the insurance industry in Chicago, Ill. Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald L. Timke; and her son, David L. Crookham, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, David L. Crookham, Sr; sons, Rock Timke and fiancé Susan Dries, Kirk J. Timke and wife Christina, Jonathan B. Crookham, and D. Lance Timke; daughter, Laura Crookham Trent; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Jane loved her family, her friends, her animals, and her plants. She was a lifelong member and a past president of American Legion Auxiliary 667,and a life member and active avid supporter of VFW Post 4676 Auxiliary in Universal City, Texas. She enjoyed being a part of that great organization. Jane was dearly loved by her family and friends and will always be remembered and loved. Jane supports donations to Animal Care and Defense, and Veterans Organizations. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 9:00 AM, at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:45 AM.
