James Waggle

SMSgt James "Sonny" Waggle, United States Air Force (Ret.), was born July 17, 1941 in Garner, Arkansas, to Orvile and Elizabeth (Minyard) Waggle and passed away November 1, 2014 in Garden Ridge, Texas at the age of 73. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, James graduated from Collinsville High School in 1959. He served 22 years in the United States Air Force as a photographer. James loved his job and couldn't believe that he was getting paid for something he enjoyed doing so much. After retiring in 1981, he worked for the United States Post Office in Homestead, Florida. In 1993, James transferred to the Denver area and worked as a carrier for the Aurora, Colorado Post Office. Upon retiring, James and his wife Jean moved to the Colorado Springs area where he worked as an Air Force Academy Golf Course Marshall. In 2003, James and Jean moved to Cibolo, Texas to be closer to their son and grandchildren. They built a home in Garden Ridge, Texas in 2012 where James was able to stay until he passed away. James was preceded in death by his parents, Orvile and Elizabeth Waggle as well as his beloved grandfather and grandmother Minyard of Searcy, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife, Jean Waggle; son, Jim Waggle with wife Darcie; granddaughters, Jamie and Elizabeth; grandson, Paul; great grandsons, Alex and Joshua; step mother, Opal Waggle; brother Rick with wife Sheri; uncles, Charlie, Lee and Glendle Minyard; and aunt, Bernia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM-2:30 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 2:30 PM. All services will conclude at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
