James Vardeman

CMSgt James S. "Bob" Vardeman, United States Air Force (Ret.), born on April 26, 1938 in Huntington, TX was called to be with the Lord on May 12, 2015, at the age of 77. Bob served honorably as a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran. Upon retiring as a CMSgt, he continued serving his country for a combined total of 44 years of military and civil service. He was a long-time member of the Randolph Masonic Lodge, the San Antonio Street Rodders, and The Country Church in Marion, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Delma Vardeman, of Huntington, TX. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Trudy Vardeman of Schertz, TX; sons, Bobby Vardeman and his wife, Colette of Helotes, TX, and Bryant Vardeman and his wife, Fortune of Marion, TX; daughters, Tina Grubaugh of Omaha, NE, Beverly Whitmer and her husband, Damon of Austin, TX, and Bethany Ciaravino and her husband, Michael of Schertz, TX; siblings, Billy Randall Vardeman and Ginger Vardeman of Huntington, TX; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 5:00PM-9:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, May 22, 2015, at 12:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home, Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Air Force Honors.
