Deacon James Michael Telfer Baba was born December 7, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan and passed away on November 12, 2012 in Schertz, Texas at the age of 72. James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Florence Telfer and son, Michael. He is survived by his children, Lisa Meuwissen and husband, Daniel of Oakdale, MN; Bill Telfer and wife, Linda of Schertz, TX; Lori Mendoza and husband, Andy of Helotes,TX; Jenae Telfer Pennington and husband, Daniel of Austin,TX; and Jimmy Telfer of Westland, MI; siblings, Joyce Lotarski of Dearborn Heights, MI, Janet Troidle and husband, Paul of Albany NY, John Telfer and wife, Peggy of North Carolina. James is also survived by grandchildren, Larry McMillan, Lacey McMillan, Samantha Mendoza, Roman Mendoza, A.J. Mendoza, Mindy Telfer, Jacquie Telfer, Will Telfer, Ashley Telfer, Alexandra Meuwissen, Amy Meuwissen, Janelle Ramirez and Joshua Schoenberg and great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Dominic Ramirez. James was a Deacon at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for 10 years, and worked in the automotive industry at several car dealerships across the nation. He was a loving father, grandfather and a dear friend. He touched the lives of many. His compassion, empathy, sense of humor and spirit will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited starting at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Selma Texas with entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
