James Tarrillion

James E. Tarrillion, Bobo , 89, of San Antonio, passed away on June 18, 2012. He was born on July 29, 1922 in San Antonio. James was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Tarrillion, daughter, Beth Rose and son, Anthony Tarrillion. He is survived by his daughters, Jan Busby and Paul Cicero of San Antonio and Carol Bauer and her husband Eric of Houston; sons, John E. Tarrillion and Karin Rowland of San Antonio, Michael J. Tarrillion and his wife Chrisylaine of Houston and Daniel G. Tarrillion and his wife Shirley of Austin; grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Jonathan, Zach, Joshua, Courtney and Nathan Tarrillion, Claire Swift, Annie and Devon Busby, Danny and Jilleen Bauer and Jason and Adam Rose; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Jacob Tarrillion, Caden and Corbin Rose and Levi Laven. James attended St. Marys University and joined the Navy in 1943. He served for three and a half years as a Communication Officer on the USS Barton, a twenty-two ton destroyer. He was at the Invasion of Okinawa. Upon his return he married Agnes Key and they were married for 60 years during which they raised six children. James and his brother Charles owned and operated Tarrillion Plastering for 35 years. They retired the business in 1978 and he then went to work for Jaffe Enterprises. After his second retirement, he and Aggie spent their country life together in Cibolo, Texas on twenty acres where they enjoyed fruit trees, vegetables and horses before his moving to Villa de San Antonio. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. at the Schertz Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX. Interment will follow at Selma Cemetery #2. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in James honor to Central Catholic High School, 1403 N. St. Mary Street, San Antonio, TX 78215 for the Scholarship Fund.
