James Stewart, (AKA) Big Red, Pops, Papa, J.P., Stew...age 79 of Schertz, passed away on July 11, 2010. James is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Theresa Stewart; survived by his wife, Dorothy Stewart; son, Robert Stewart of TX; daughter, Lisa Stewart Jemison of FL; sisters, Ernistine Johnson and Marie Stone of WI, Pearl Dixon and Irman Griffin of IL and Ludie Bell of LA; grandchildren, Tia Jemison of FL, Zach Stewart of OK, Christopher and Jyaire Stewart of TX and great-grandchild, Leyah Stewart of TX. James retired from the United States Air Force where he served in Japan, Turkey, Thailand, LA and Texas. He was also retired from Coastal Oil and Refinery and was a sportsman. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
