James Rachels
August 2, 1940 — August 8, 2010
RACHELS James Clayton JC Rachels, 70, spent more than 30 years in the car hauling industry filled with late night truck stops, cheap motels, greasy food and miles of steering 18-wheelers down black top highways as America streaked by. He drove for Hadley Auto Transport when he retired in 2007 as a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union Local #657. He was born in Yadkinville, North Carolina on August 2, 1940 and passed away on August 8, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lula Rachels and youngest sister, Linda. Survivors also include his son, James Rachels; beloved sisters and brother, Libby Myers of Salisbury, North Carolina, Maggie & Larry Stephens of Valdese, North Carolina and Larry Rachels of Statesville, North Carolina and other numerous relatives in North Carolina.
