Jim (JJ) Nally died peacefully at his home in Live Oak, TX on July 25, 2022. Jim was born on New Year’s Eve 1934 in Brooklyn NY to William and Madalyn Nally.
He had two brothers (Bill and Bob) and three sisters (Margie, Madalyn, and Colleen). Jim married Patricia Paterek, his wife of 64 years, in 1957. They raised two boys, James and John. Jim coached Little League baseball when the boys were young. He enjoyed frequent gatherings of family and friends and holiday visits from relatives. Jim retired from the US Air Force in 1975 after serving 23 years in Korea, Alabama, New York, Germany, Washington DC, the Philippines, Thailand, and Texas. He worked for the Lear-Siegler Company until he fully retired in 1998. Jim was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Church where he attended bible study and the Faithful Friends ministry. He was a member of "The Hangar Door" at Randolph AFB.
Jim is survived by his wife Pat, his sister Colleen Mooney (Steve), his two sons James (Brenda) and John (Monica). He is also survived by four grandchildren -- Laura (Steven), Kevin (Becca), Madi (Daniel), Megan and two great-grandchildren (Sienna and Oliver).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the OLPH Building Fund, 16075 Evans Road, Selma TX 78154.
Services will be at OLPH Church on Wednesday, August 10. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Rosary at 10:30 and the Funeral Mass at 11:00. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, August 15 at 10:15 am.
