James Holder

November 19, 1954 — September 20, 2011

James Jim David Holder, age 56 of Schertz, TX, passed away on September 20, 2011. Jim was a loving son, husband, brother, father, grandpa, friend and soldier. He served in the Army for 21+ years and retired as SFC. He was currently working with West Telemarketing. Jim was known to everyone as one who was laid back, loved life, people and beer. He can best be remembered as a jokester with family and friends, loved BBQs and family get-togethers. His father, William "Bill" Holder, preceded him in death. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary B. Holder from Schertz, TX; mother, Grace Holder from Greenville, SC; sons, Robert Holder, Jeremy Holder and John James; daughters, Jessica James, Marie James and Monique Benz; siblings, twin sister, Elizabeth Moon from Greenville, SC, Lew Kelley, Robert Duncan, Renna Robertson, Bill Johnson, David Kelley and grandchildren, Justin, Rebel, Emily, Kayla, Whitney, John, Charlie, Samantha, Caleb, Joshua and one grandchild due in December. Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 12:30 PM following the visitation. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral costs. Donations may be made through Randolph Federal Credit Union, account # 7603588. The account is under the name of Jeremy Holder.
