Ismael Carrion, Sr. went home to the Lord on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the age of 80. He was born on June 17, 1933, in Runge, Texas, to Santiago Carrion and Barbarita Muniz. Ismael, (aka Chico) leaves behind a legacy; a family rich with love! He had an insurmountable zest for life, family and God. He always preached "GOD FIRST" and wanted to outlive Moses who died at the biblical age of 120 years old! If you didn't walk away from Chico a bit wiser, you always left with a new joke to tell. Chico touched the lives of many and brought Christ into the life of everyone he knew. He started his own auto body shop business by the age of 18 and supported his family until his last days. His passion was painting cars, old and new and did so to the very end! Ismael is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Genaro Carrion and Delfino Carrion and sisters, Margarita Zapata, Reyes Muniz and Cruzita Chapa. He is survived by his wife, Maria Carrion, children, Joseph Martinez and Marisa Angela Carrion, and also survived by Normalinda Carrion, her children, Barbara Martinez, Ismael Carrion Jr., Rosalinda Sanchez, Harold John Carrion, Clara Ann Bruner and Elizabeth Biles. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren whom believed he was Santa! The family will receive friends and relatives at the Annunciation of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in St. Hedwig, TX on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with a rosary service beginning at 7pm. The mass of the resurrection will be held Thursday June 5, 2014 at 10:00am. Beloved husband, Dad, Grandpa, Chico, you will be greatly missed!
