Isidora Aguilar Vijil

In loving memory of our mom Isidora Aguilar Vijil. She was born on April 4, 1939 in Marathon, Tx to Eusebio and Virginia Aguilar. She was called home to our faithful Father in Heaven and reunited with the love 💝 of her life Porfirio on Sunday January 12, 2025 surrounded with so much love with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eusebio and Virginia Aguilar, her brothers Eugenio F. Aguilar, Emilio F. Aguilar, her sisters Elsa A. Briceno, Elicia F. Aguilar and her beloved husband Porfirio E. Vijil Sr. She is survived by her children Porfirio E Vijil Jr, and spouse Laura, Ricardo A Vijil and spouse Diana, Karen V Martinez and spouse Reuben. 

Her grandchildren Porfirio III, Joshua, Ricardo, Esteban and fiancé Anysa, Isabel, Marissa, Lauren and spouse Gabriel Zurita, Lindsey and spouse Cray Lester. She lived to meet her Great grandchildren Peyton Vijil & Nehemiah Ember Zurita. She is also survived by her brothers Sixto F. Aguilar and spouse Crispina, Manuel F. Aguilar and spouse Annette, Ernesto F. Aguilar and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored and loved deeply. 

Mom grew up in a small west Texas town called Marathon, Tx. She graduated high school there in 1957. She met the Love of her life a few years later and had very short visits with our daddy during their courtship but she knew he was the one when she saw his dark curly hair. They were married on August 6, 1960 and were married for almost 60 years before our daddy was called home. Mom lived a life full of love, faith, and joy. She is a faithful servant who lived her life for our Lord. Mom’s life was a beautiful testament of devotion to her faith and family. She was a dedicated parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and loved her church family very much. Her love for Jesus guided her life and inspired those around her by loving unconditionally as Jesus does. She was the heart of our family and will continue to be in spirit. She prayed for everyone. She loved bringing everyone together with her big warm beautiful smile, tight hugs, her vibrant spirit, contagious laugh and giggles and wholesome cooking. Some of her most treasured moments were dancing at family gatherings, hosting family gatherings, time with her children, grandchildren and the blessings of her great grand babies, attending daily mass with her brother Manuel, sharing stories over meals, especially her legendary tamales and enchiladas, which were loved by all who had the chance to experience and enjoy of tasting them and most definitely sharing time and holding hands with her beloved husband. They are a match made in heaven and now they get to continue their waltz across the heavens. Rest peacefully momma. We LOVE 💝 you with the never ending love of Jesus 🙏🏼 

A Visitation will begin at 3:00PM, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00PM, on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will take place at 9:00AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Good Sheperd Catholic Church with interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
