Isabel “Lydia” Heather, 90 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Boerne Stage Senior Care Home.
Lydia was born 5 November 1933 in Isabela, Puerto Rico to the late Senaida Arce-Gonzalez and Victorio Gonzalez. She was the oldest of nine children; five preceded her in death: Victor Arce-Gonzalez, Hector Arce-Gonzalez, Gilberto Arce-Gonzalez, Iris Arce-Gonzalez, and Gloria Arce-Gonzalez/Cruz
Lydia grew up and attended school in Isabela Puerto Rico. Here she met and married Harland Heather in 1955. In 1958, she left her Island home and began a series of military moves overseas and throughout the United States while raising and caring for her family. She learned how to speak English became a good cook and homemaker and could drive a car but only in an emergency. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife and mother and friend to many. She loved to grow food and flowers, feed everyone well and on occasion travel out west to visit her friends and try her luck at the casinos. She relied on her faith, prayer and trust in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lydia leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted Husband Harland, her brother Angel Luis Arce-Gonzalez, Sisters Carmen Arce-Gonzalez/ Miranda, and Francisca Arce-Gonzalez; her children: Jesse Heather and spouse Kim, Diane Carolan and spouse Mark, Timothy Heather and spouse Teri, Patrick Heather; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Many heartfelt thanks and blessings to her caregivers at Boerne Stage Senior Care, Companion Hospice and Caritas Family Medicine.
