Irma Maria Kotanan, 75, of Mexico City, Mexico loved to be called "Momma" by her kids and "Abue" by her grandkids, departed her loving family to join her heavenly Lord on 12 September 2022.
In 1977, she met the love of her life, Martin Kotanan on the beautiful Waikiki Beach in Hawaii and went on to wed in 1978. Irma, alongside her husband, Martin, went on to have two daughters, Sharon and Claudia. She raised her children with love and devotion in San Antonio, Texas with her husband. When Irma had her first child, Sharon, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Irma excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family, through and through. She was an excellent advisor, always knowing the right thing to say and never missing an opportunity to support her family. Whether it was supporting Sharon through her foreign travel with the military, or encouraging Claudia to pursue the right balance of career and family, she was our constant supporter.
Her hobbies included plants and gardening and taking care of her beloved parrots Coco and Maui. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren.
Irma is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Martin Kotanan, her two daughters, Sharon Kotanan and Pedro, and Claudia Keyes and Zach of San Antonio, Texas. She has four grandchildren, Marley, Avery, Eden and Torin.
Irma is preceded in death by her parents Sara Renteria and Miguel Hernandez.
