Iris Mosley

Iris Gail Mosley, age 79, died peacefully on May 25, 2017 after a valiant struggle with cancer. Iris was born to and was the only daughter of Henry Brust and Katie Bundschuh, in Ullin, Illinois on September 22, 1937. Iris worked at Texas Department of Transportation for over 18 years before retiring. In retirement, Iris loved painting, she was an artist who painted many beautiful landscapes, florals, and stills. She also enjoyed and loved reading and working in her garden. She devoted much of her time to her two grandsons, spending many memorable afternoons and summers together. Iris was thoughtful and compassionate, always putting others before herself. She lived in Schertz for almost thirty years where she had many friends and was a beloved part of the Schertz United Methodist Church, where she also volunteered as an usher.

She is survived by her only son, Mark Mosley, who is married to Jeanette Mosley. Together they have two sons, Jared and Nathan Mosley, and one daughter-in-law, Amanda Mosley. She loved her family and friends and we all loved her. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 10:00am, at the Schertz United Methodist Church, a graveside service will follow at 12:30pm at the Sunset Memorial Park on Austin Hwy.
