Irene Boucher

Irene Ann Boucher (Vaverka), born on June 7, 1948, to John and Antonia Vaverka, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2016, unexpectedly. She graduated from Hennessey High School in 1966 and was voted Most Helpful in her class. She also attended Oklahoma State University. She later married the love of her life, Dale J. Wehling; and from that union, two children were born; Curtis L. Wehling, of Waukomis; and Mitzi J. Bishop of Schertz, Texas. Irene was a diligent and dedicated employee of the Federal Government for 41 years. She knew no stranger and no task was too big or too small for her. She cared for her family, friends and even strangers without giving a second thought. Putting others ahead of herself was always a priority, especially her children and grandson. She will be deeply missed by all. Irene is survived by her son, Curtis; daughter, Mitzi; son-in-law, James V Bishop; and her only grandchild, Connor Bishop. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Antonia Vaverka; brother, Ernest Vaverka; and sister, Delores Vaverka. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held April 5, 2016 at 10:00AM in her hometown of Hennessey, Ok, where she wanted her final resting place to be. In Lieu of Flowers, Irene had requested that any memorial donations be made to The American Diabetes Association or any cause for Autism Advocacy.
