Ira Garrett

January 20, 1943 — March 26, 2013

Ira E. Garrett died peacefully on March 26 at the age of 70. A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, March 29, at 9:45 AM. A loving father and husband, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn L. Garrett; 2 children, Lorene V. Garrett and Ira E. Garrett, Jr.; brother, John Henry Garrett; and sisters, Gwendolyn Reed, Vonner Moore and Brenda Adams. Garrett devoted 46 years to government service, retiring from the Air Force and civil service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SAMMinistries (www.samm.org).
