Ira Ford

Ira Eunice Ford, age 75, passed away on November 26, 2017 in Marion, Texas. She was born on April 1, 1942 to Ernest William Clark & Alice Brady Miears Clark in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Ford, Sr.; sons: Charles (Chuck) Ford, Jr. and Mark Ford and wife Jennifer; granddaughters, Taylor, Mackenzie, Peyton, Della, and Claire; brother, Mike, and numerous nieces and cousins.

For twenty-four years, Ira supported her husband as he served six different assignments with the United States Air Force. The military led them to places in Louisiana, California, and eventually Texas, where they would raise their children and call Marion their home. Ira worked numerous jobs throughout her life including fifteen years with the Seguin Police Department, but the job she cherished the most was being the mother of two boys.

Affectionately known as Oma, Ira loved to watch her kids and grandkids participate in all of their activities. She was a loving, supporting, cookie-baking mother and grandmother who lit up a room with her warm smile. She strived to live like Jesus with her passion and caring nature. She thoroughly enjoyed her church family at the Country Church in Marion. Oma loved her life, family, friends, and the Lord.

To celebrate Ira's life, a visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30AM, on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at The Country Church in Marion, Texas. Graveside Services will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15AM. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hope Hospice in New Braunfels or Saint Jude's.
