Ilona Dagmar Gordon of New Braunfels, TX, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and sister-in-Christ, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2020, in New Braunfels, TX after a brief battle with cancer. Ilona was born December 8, 1959 in San Antonio, TX, and is preceded in death by her mother Dagmar Eva Elsa Garcia.
She is survived by her husband Robert Gordon of New Braunfels, TX & family, daughter Nicolette Ramos & husband Jose of San Antonio, TX, father Rolando Garcia of San Antonio, TX, brother Roger Garcia of Tigard, OR & family, sister Diana Hinojosa of Little Rock, AR & family, sister Linda Brogdon of Corpus Christi, TX & family, sister Christina Ramsey of San Antonio, TX and family, sister Sylvia Heien of Little Rock, AR & family, sister Olivia Roberson of Little Rock, AR & family, brother Rolando Garcia Jr. of Benton, AR & family, and including 8 nieces, 9 nephews and 28 grand-nieces and -nephews.
Ilona was qualified as a Bexar County Master Gardener, and loved helping others with their plants. She also had a heart for all living creatures, and was constantly rescuing strays, injured animals, and giving shelter to Monarch caterpillars so they could reach their full potential as butterflies. Ilona leaves a legacy of unconditional love, patience, giving, wisdom, and courage that will be carried on through her family and emulated by all that knew and loved her. She was a kind and caring person who blessed the lives of all that knew her and she will be greatly missed until we meet again.
A memorial service will be held on November 7 th , 2020, at the River City Community Church, 16765 Lookout Road, in Selma, TX at 5:00 PM.
Graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
