Hugh Amick

October 29, 1932 — May 14, 2007

Hugh H. Amick, age 74 of Schertz, Texas passed away on May 14, 2007. He was born to Hugh William & Ruth Virginia (Hutton) Amick on October 29, 1932 in Topeka, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Pamela Kay Amick. Mr. Amick is survived by his wife, Josie Galindo Amick, Schertz; son, Michael H. Amick, Wichita, KS and grandson, Ryan Z. Amick, Wichita, KS. He was a former Eagle Scout and later served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Mr. Amick is a 32nd Degree Mason as well as a member of the Shriners and had a 50 year career as an Aeronautical Engineer. He was a private pilot and loved hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking, playing golf and listening to Mariachi music. Mr. Amick was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 (with a Rosary being Recited at 7:00 PM) at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Philip Kim as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Selma Cemetery #2.
