Howard Hugh OHara was born July 28, 1919 in Glady, West Virginia to Guy D. & Icie Denell (Clark) OHara. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 17, 2010 at his home in Universal City, Texas. Howard was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Lena Grace, as well as his parents; a sister, Pauline Holihand and brother, Guy D. OHara, Jr. He is survived by his son, Donald Howard OHara; daughter, Barbara Elaine Maddox & husband, William; granddaughters, Paula Elaine Maddox-Roalson & husband, John and Lori Kristine Maddox-Gallegos & husband, Matthew and four great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Hannah Grace Roalson, Abigail Elaine Roalson, William Benjamin Gallegos and Bella Kristine Gallegos. Chief MSGT OHara served 31 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in Universal City in 1972. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Myron Ricketts officiating. A private burial for the family will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
