Homer Dean Ford was born June 30, 1950 to Claude Wilbur & Ann Evelyn (Cochenour) Ford in Springfield, Ohio. He passed away January 8, 2010 in Spring Branch, Texas at the age of 59. Homer grew up in the Schertz/Cibolo area. His passions were his family, fishing and woodworking. PV1 Ford served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. Homer knew no strangers and is loved by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Maupin Ford; daughter, Rebecca Kloster & husband, Michael; sons, Christopher Ford & wife, Vanessa and Levi Ford; step-children, Angela Glasscock & husband, David and Michael Hutson; sister, Ginger Gober & husband, Rick; brother, Tommy Martin; sixteen grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, additional relatives & dear friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Tom Jones officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The American Cancer Society.
