Hermelinda "Mena" Martinez, entered eternal rest March 31,2021 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 90. She was born on March 20,1931 in Encino (La Mesa), Texas to Macario D. Ramirez and Dora L. Ramirez. She was a great role model as a Mother, Wife, Aunt, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother who was always willing to share her love of cooking and sewing. She was kind, gentle, hardworking, and had a heart of gold. Born into a large family in a rural farming and ranching community, she was able to share her many traits and love of family. Her legacy will continue to live through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren for many years to come. Although she is no longer with us, she left an imprint on the lives of many and her memories will last a lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Gilberto "Beto" Martinez, her parents, Macario D. Ramirez and Dora L. Ramirez, and Her sisters Hilda R. Trevino, Aveldia Escalante, Lela Perez, Estella Martinez and a brother Uvaldo Ramirez.
She is survived by her son, Levy Martinez (Veronica) of Dripping Springs, Texas; daughters, Aida Enna Martinez San Antonio, Texas; Mari Alvarez (Mike) San Marcos, Texas Elva Rey Silva (Lauro) Falfurrias,Texas, and Irma Salas (Alex) Falfurrias,Texas, 3 grandchildren; Kassie (Patrick) Pruneda Dripping Springs,Texas, Mike Anthony Alvarez(Maggie) San Marcos, Texas, Daniella Estel Alvarez San Marcos,Texas; Great Grandaughter, Ava Reese Pruneda Dripping Springs,Texas; Great Grandson, Eli Pruneda, Dripping Springs, Texas; Sister, Cecilia Chavana Edingburg,Texas and Stefane Chavana Port Lavaca, Texas and numerous Nephews and Nieces.
She will join the love of her life at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with a future memorial in Encino, Texas to be determined.
