Herbert "Sonny" Edward Tate USAF (Ret) of Schertz, Texas passed away on July 2, 2014 at the age of 78. After twenty years of service in the United States Air Force, Herbert continued working with SARPMA as a plumber for an additional twenty years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Faye Tate and sister, Jean Gilliam. Survivors include his children, Marjorie F. Delepine of Austin, Texas, Abby Connors of Lake Hills, Texas, Jeff Tate of Schertz, Texas and Nancy Beauchamp of Abilene, Texas; sister, Debra Stringfield of Grants Pass, Oregon; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 10:30AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Air Force Honors.
