Henry Pfeil

Henry Arlin Pfeil was born on the Family Farm in Guadalupe County on February 6, 1930 to Henry W. Pfeil and wife Mary Goll Pfeil. Henry entered peaceful rest on Friday, August 27, 2010. Henry attended Green Valley School. When he was 15, he had Rheumatic Fever, which severely damaged his heart. He received blood transfusions from his friends who saved his life at that time. After graduation, Henry worked for J.C. Penney. He married Gladys on September 23, 1951. In 1965, they moved to Cibolo and operated the Cibolo Grocery Store until 1975. From 1978 until his retirement in 1995, Henry worked as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary, his stepmother Anna Pfeil and his two sisters, Mary Wehe and Thusnelda Kierum. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, his son Arlon H. Pfeil (Becky), his daughter, Laverne Pitts (TJ), as well as 3 nieces, 2 nephews, with many grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29th at the Schertz Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m.on Monday, August 30, 2010, at St. Paul Evangelical Church in Cibolo. Interment will follow at St. Paul Evangelical Church Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Church or the American Heart Association
