Henrietta Mead

February 17, 1958 — March 31, 2012

On March 31, 2012, Henrietta Mead went to be with the Lord at age 54 after a gallant effort against breast cancer. She leaves behind two wonderful sons, Ryan and Tyler and her loving husband of 24 years, Jay C. Mead. Henri, as she was known to her family and friends, was employed at USAA for almost 36 years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rachel S. Barron. Henri is survived by her parents, Ms. Henrietta F. Sierra, Joe J. Sierra and Stepmom, Carrie Sierra; sisters, Margaret and Edna; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and her many dedicated friends. Henri loved to laugh, she had a remarkable sense of humor; her witty and charming remarks would often create a little heat in you. Her favorite activities included jogging and competitive running. She loved the outdoors, music and dancing. She was a devoted parishioner, ACTS member and taught CCD classes at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the CTRC staff, Hope Hospice and her aunt Bertha Garay for their devoted care. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Schertz Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
