Hector Ramirez

July 6, 1945 — December 9, 2020

Hector U. Ramirez was called to his heavenly home by Our Lord Jesus Christ on December 9, 2020 at the age of 75. He was born July 6, 1945 to Eugenio and Maria Ramirez who preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Eugenio Ramirez Jr. and Oscarito Ramirez. He is survived by his loving wife Pilar Ramirez, son, Hector Ramirez, Jr. (Wife Rosario) and daughter, Annette Sanchez (Husband Alfred); his five grandchildren, Alfred Sanchez, Jr. Angeline Sanchez, Aubrey Sanchez, Hector Ramirez III, Joshua Ramirez; Great granddaughter, Aviana Sanchez; six sisters, Charlotte, Mary, Olga, Oralia, Janie and Gloria and three brothers Oscar, Javier, and Andrew.

All those who were blessed to have known Hector will tell you he was a man who continuously went out of his way for those he loved and cared deeply about. Hector enjoyed having his family around him and loved the holidays. It did not matter what time of year it was he was always decorating his home and taking care of his garden.

In October of 1965 he joined the US Army in which he served in Vietnam. He took great pride in serving his country. Hector then met his wife Pilar Ramirez and later married on October 16, 1971. He was a man who did a lot of work for his church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years and helped hand in hand giving aid to his community. He was also a Vincentian of the St. Vicente De Paul Society. With time he did not spend helping people he devoted his time to his family, always making sure they were taken care of and supported. Hector was a huge fan of his Cowboys, Spurs and Yankees, he hardly missed a game, he saw it as an opportunity to bring his friends and family together to Bar-B-Q. Hector enjoyed his Sunday trips to Buzsy’s Flea Market, he would always make his way to the birds. Recently, he and his wife, Pilar stated a new Sunday tradition, they would take a few hours and drive out to the countryside, taking in all the beauty that God created. Hector was a collector of many items such as eagles, fiesta memorabilia, antiques, and historical items.

Hector was a special gift from heaven that touched our lives in many ways. He will be deeply missed by all but never forgotten and will have a special place in all our hearts.
