Hector Becerra

April 28, 1938 — July 6, 2009

Hector S. Becerra was called to be with the Lord on July 6, 2009. He was born in Del Rio, Texas on April 28, 1938. He led a full life. First, serving in the Navy as an Aviation Boatswainmate from 1955 to 1959. Then, retiring from Southern Pacific Railroad in 1994 after 20 plus years. He was a beloved husband and friend to his wife, Linda Becerra. He is survived by his children Sandra Rounsaville and her husband Chris, Hector Becerra, Jr. and his partner Douglas Gregory, George Becerra and wife Tammy and Jacqueline Cantwell and partner John McCauley. He will be missed by his grandchildren Charles Scott Reed, Eric Shawn Reed, Dustin Becerra, Kyle Becerra, Katherine Becerra, Aidan Cantwell, Ember Cantwell and great-grandchildren Evalette Reed and Hunter Bibeau. Hector is also survived by his sisters Guadalupe Carr, Nancy Argabright and husband Lloyd and brother Richard Becerra and wife, Tina, sister-in-law, Dora Becerra and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Irma Vasquez Becerra in 1979.A tribute and memorial service will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 commencing at 2:00 p.m. at the Schertz Funeral Home.
