Hazel Nester

Hazel Jennings Nester, 102 of Schertz, Texas, died July 2, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Carroll County, VA on May 16, 1908 to Luther and Nancy Jennings. Hazel was the owner operator of the Waverite Beauty Shop in Hillsville for many decades. She relocated to Texas on her 101st birthday. Surviving are two sons, Leonard Nester of Texas, and Mason Nester, Sr. of Virginia; a daughter, Jean Levin of Maryland; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother and one sister. The family would like to thank Ronnie & Darlene Evans & the staff of Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge for all the wonderful care & support & treating everyone like family. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 5, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Hillsville, VA.
