After a year remote at Galena AFB, AK, he was sent with his family to Ramstein AB, Germany. He started a children's TV show called "Uncle Harvey's Fun Shop" and was well known by kids all over Europe. His show was given an award for teaching safety to children. He was then stationed at Berlin, Germany, where he resurrected the "Fun Shop". After the tours in Germany, he was sent to Johnston Island where he was the TV station manager. His hobbies included ham radio, camping, wood working, electronics, astronomy, and his grand-children. In 2003 he received a liver transplant at the University Hospital Transplant Unit.
