Harry Johnson

Harry Marshall Johnson, born on October 28, 1945, passed away on May 4, 2015 at the age of 69. Harry was born in Ft. McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia, to John Palmer Johnson and Virginia Belle Read. Harry was a SPC 4, U.S. Army, and Military Intelligence. In 1999, he began working for the SAISD as an Art and History teacher where he taught for 37 years. In 2006 he was awarded middle school teacher of the year. Harry married Carrie on June 4, 2002 in Schertz, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Retired Colonel John Palmer Johnson II and Virginia Belle Johnson and brothers, Retired LT. Colonel John Palmer Johnson III and Roy M. Johnson. Harry is survived by his loving wife, Carrie Diane Johnson; son, Harry M. Johnson II; step-sons, David Shaffer, Steven Shaffer; brother, Russell R. Johnson; grandchildren, Sara R. Johnson, Kenyon R. Johnson. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2015 from 2:00PM - 6:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to begin at 6:00PM. All services will conclude in the stateroom. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans
