Harriett Lipps Sommer born on August 31, 1921 in Lolita, TX, passed away on May 13, 2014 in Schertz, TX, at the age of 92. Harriett is preceded in death by her husbands Leo J. Sommer and Ralph Lipps, parents; Henry Littleton Chambless, and Martha Louisa Pierce, daughter Alyne Kusenberger and granddaughter Louise Kusenberger. She is survived by her children Kenna L. Smith and Ralph B.C. Lipps with wife Debra Lipps; sister Ruth Bunnell of Bethany, Ok; grandchildren Henry V. and Kenneth RJ Hansuld, she also leaves 5 great-grandchildren. Harriett worked at Randolph Air Force Base as a librarian from 1965 to 1983, and worked for the JAG office also on RAFB from 1983 to 1985 where she retired from her civil service duty. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, 10:00am, at the Schertz First Baptist Church, 600 Aero Ave, Schertz TX 78154. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Goodwill at www.goodwillsa.org or 406 W. Commerce St. San Antonio, TX 78207.
