Harold Lejeune
October 13, 1939 — January 12, 2014
On January 12 at age 74, Harold Hal' Watkins LeJeune, Jr. (Hal) went to be with our Lord. Hal was born and raised in New Orleans and loved the special cuisine of his native city. An adventurous youth, Hal joined the Air Force at age 17 and served in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he traveled afar to places such as Japan, Hawaii, and Greenland before moving home to join the New Orleans Police force. In the 1970s, Hal left the police force to work in the lighting business in Houston, Texas where he met his future wife, Sonja (Radovan). They married in 1984 and made their home San Antonio where, in 1989, they founded Aesthetic Lighting, an outdoor landscape lighting company. In 1985, they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Nicole Desiree, and 18 months later, in 1987, the birth of their son, Anthony David Andrew (Tony). Hal ran his company successfully, took immense pride in his hundreds of projects both large and small, and was working on a lighting design the day he died. To his great joy, he lived to see Nicole and Tony graduate from college. Known by family and friends as a generous provider and entertaining story-teller, Hal was admired by everyone he met for his sincerity, work-ethic, and forthright personality. Hal remained true to himself throughout his life. To his family's joy he came to know the Lord in his last years. Hal was predeceased by his parents, Harold Watkins LeJeune, Sr., and Beverly Adams LeJeune and his sister, Beverly Anselmo. Hal is survived by his wife and children. Visitation will take place on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 10:00AM with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00AM at Schertz Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
