Dr. Gualberto "Gually" Marrero (September 17, 1943 - December 7, 2013) Gually passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 5:15 p.m. surrounded by family and friends. He had many wonderful accomplishments throughout his life. However, if you asked him, his greatest accomplishments of all include: his wife Lourdes (Cookie), his children Veronica & Jerry Myers, Alba & Gorm Johannessen, Luisa P. Marrero, Esq. and Maj. Gualberto & Tonya Marrero III. He also leaves behind the 6 greatest loves of his life, his grandchildren, Nydia, Jacob, Alexis, Raven, Erik & Ethan. Gually is also survived by his siblings Celia Marrero and Petrona & Stanly Pruitt and his niece Alicia & J.D. Willeford, sister-in-law, Alba Eber and two nieces Marissa Bibens & Erika Carson. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Restituta Telemaco and his parents, Gualberto & Jesusa Marrero. Gually was an extraordinary Neurologist who practiced in San Antonio, Texas since 1973. He graduated from Inter American University in San German, Puerto Rico and was a member of Phi Epsilon Chi fraternity. Gually retired as a Major from the U.S. Army and began his practice in Pediatric and Adult Neurology wherein he gained the love and respect of the medical and Puerto Rican communities. There will be a memorial service on Friday, December 13, 2013, 6:00pm, at the Schertz Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
