Grace Virok, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in San Antonio, TX. She was born to Ignacz and Mary Paferi (Preg) on July 24, 1924 in Trenton, NJ. Mrs. Virok worked as an administrative assistant for the NJ Department of Education where she retired after 21 years of service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Joe, her brother Louie Paferi, her parents, in-laws and various aunts and uncles. Survivors include daughters, Carol McKnight of Schertz, TX, Grace Quin and husband Jeff of San Antonio, Rita Pasierb and husband Gary of San Antonio, Mary Virok of Skokie, IL, Bernadette Barnes and husband Jay of San Antonio, grandchildren Kara Smith and husband David, Mark Pasierb and wife, Megan, Meghan Oyler and husband, Jason, Amanda Grohman and husband Jason, Justin Quin, Christopher and Alyssa Barnes, great-grandsons Owen Gary Smith and Luke Nathan Pasierb and great-granddaughter Sylvie Grace Smith, brother-in-law Ernie Virok and wife Julie, sister-in-law Madge Virok and sister-in-law Lillian Paferi and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 5-7 PM followed by the Rosary at 7 at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 FM 3009, Schertz, TX. Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 9 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1605 N. Evans Rd. in Selma, TX. Graveside Services will follow at 10:30 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Ft. Sam Houston, TX. Donations may be made to Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge, 3301 FM 3009, Schertz, TX 78154. We will hold Grace forever in our hearts where she will be remembered for her kind, gentle and generous spirit.
