Grace Masoni

Palm Beach Gardens "Mrs. Grace Miriam (Nixon) Masoni, 87, of 5350 Woodland Lakes Drive, died Monday, January 23, 2012, at the home of her beloved son Paul Masoni of Converse, TX. She died in the presence of her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Oswald J. Masoni. Grace was born in Schenectady, NY on Oct 3, 1924, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Horan) Nixon. She worked for numerous agencies in Manhattan NY. Shortly after her marriage in 1948, she moved from Manhattan to Utica NY and later on to Rochester and also lived for a short time in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Upon retirement she and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach, SC. Upon his passing in 1988, she then moved to Palm Beach Gardens. She volunteered 23 years of auxiliary service at Palm Beach Medical Center. She was charity chairperson for the hospital auxiliary for seven years; past president of the St Ignatius Loyola Cathedral; Secretary of the St Ignatius Loyola Cathedral Womans Guild as well as a long time choir member. She volunteered at St. Marys Childrens Hospital and organized many social events for the Woodland Lakes Condo Association. She remained active in the community by supporting the Parent-Child Centers Child Life Program; St Jude Childrens Hospital and Disabled Veterans Association. She leaves one son, Paul M. Masoni and his wife, Patricia (Bozek) of Converse, TX and one daughter, Suzanne (Houston) of Sanford, FL; two brothers Jack Nixon and sister-in-law Betty of Hartsville SC and Joseph Nixon of Northport, NY; a sister-in-law Isotta Mecca and her husband, Anthony of Palm Beach Gardens; two grandsons, Michael Masoni and his finance Kaci McCauley and Justin Leckinger; two granddaughters, Carey (Masoni) Sifuentes and her husband Jesse; and Melissa Leckinger; two beautiful great-granddaughters; Haylee Brianne Sifuentes and Savannah McKenzie Sifuentes. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Clara Mecca and her husband Domenic. Arrangements: Memorial service will be held on 3 March 2012, 10am, at St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral, 9999 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach. Final resting will be with her beloved husband Ozzie in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the convenience of the family.
