Gloria Crockett

January 19, 1925 — March 6, 2009

Gloria Lane Crockett of Converse, Texas passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 6, 2009. Born January 19, 1925 in Utica, Ohio, she grew up in New Jersey but she called Charleston, West Virginia home for 40 years. She married Everett (E.D.) Crockett on August 22, 1945. She was a homemaker, and raised two sons. Gloria and Everett moved to Salisbury, North Carolina and then moved to the San Antonio area to be closer to family. She was a member of the Campbells Creek Nazarene Church in Charleston, West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, young brother and her great-granddaughter Kassandra. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 64 years, Everett D. Crockett, son Ron Crockett and wife Nancy ,son Everett Lane Crockett and wife Karen, grandson Mike Crockett and wife Brandi, and granddaughter Michelle McHone and husband Gary. She was a great-grandmother of six; Justen, Wesley, Payton and Parker Crockett and Ryan and Eryn McHone. She leaves behind other friends and relatives, and her beloved dog Teddi. Private visitation will be held on Monday, March 9th. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 2pm at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be sent to the ASPCA of Texas -Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
