Glenn Knight
August 5, 1942 — December 12, 2010
Glenn Edward (Eddie) Knight died on December 12, 2010, at his home in Cibolo. He was 68 years old. A ten-year cancer survivor, Eddie was a kind, generous and outgoing man who loved his family and especially his two grandsons. Eddie was born on August 5, 1942, to Beverly Stone Knight (and Glenn Edward Knight who died prior to his birth), in San Saba, Texas. He was raised in San Saba, Texas, by his mother and stepfather, Martin Crutsinger, and graduated from San Saba High School, one of the Fighting Dillos. He went to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, on an academic scholarship, for a year. He then transferred to The University of Texas in Austin, where he enrolled in pharmacy school and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. After college he married Mauretta L. Bigley and they moved to Dallas, Texas, to both work at Baylor Hospital. They had one son, Paul Allen Knight, while in Dallas, before moving to Athens, Texas, where Eddie became part owner of Stirman Pharmacy. After Athens, Eddie re-married and moved to Brownwood, Texas, where he owned Peerless Drugstore. From Brownwood, Eddie moved to Fort Worth, Texas, working for the Eckerd Corporation, which was bought by CVS Pharmacy. He transferred to CVS/Caremarks call center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he made many lifelong friends. When CVS/Caremark closed the Fort Worth facility, Eddie transferred to the San Antonio facility, and bought his home in Cibolo. While in Cibolo, Eddie made more wonderful friends at work, in his neighborhood, his Texas Longhornd football games and his restaurant friends. In the off-season, Eddie enjoyed traveling to visit his friends and family. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Edward Knight and Beverly Stone Knight Crutsinger, stepfather Martin Crutsinger and stepmother Ila Crutsinger. He is survived by his son Paul Knight and daughter-in-law Dana Knight of Cedar Park, Texas; brother Marty Crutsinger and sister-in-law Christine Crutsinger of Arlington, Texas; grandsons Brendan and Colton Knight; granddaughter Kiley Horton; niece Elizabeth Crutsinger of Austin, Texas; very good friends Charles and Barbara Ashby and their daughters; Dean Phillips, David Fleming, Keith Cummins, and many many more from CVS/Caremark and BurntOrangeFanZone. A memorial service celebrating Eddies life will be held December 17, 2010, at 1 p.m. at the Schertz Funeral Homer in Schertz, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association research efforts.
