Gladys Wood

May 29, 1924 — April 18, 2013

Gladys M. Wood was born on May 29, 1924 in Moulton Texas and passed away on April 18, 2013 at the age of 88. She moved to San Antonio at the age of 18 to attend business school after graduating from the Sam & Will Moore School in Moulton, Texas. Gladys was an active member of the State Level Democratic Party and enjoyed volunteer teaching English as a second language. She was a long time member of the Live Oak Baptist Church including participation in the Lively Oaks and the Lively Notes. She and her husband Dewey were world travelers during their retirement years, traveling to numerous locations in North & Central America, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. Her parents John and Eve Meyer, spouse, Dewey Wood, and children Caryl Eddleman Marburger and Stephen Eddleman, preceded her in death. She is survived by her siblings Margery Eddleman, and Sam Meyer, her grandchildren; Lauri Moring, Michelle Leikam, Kristi Marburger, Eric Eddleman, Brian Rubin, Kameron Wood, Jordan Eddleman, Jason Marburger, and Portland Wood; and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday April 22, 2013 at Schertz Funeral Home from 4:00PM until 8:00PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2013 at Schertz Funeral Home at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at Moulton City Cemetery in Moulton, Texas at 2:00.
