Gladys Jones

February 27, 1923 — November 21, 2015

Gladys Louise Jones, born on February 27, 1923, passed away on November 21, 2015 at the age of 92. Gladys worked as a sales clerk at Winn's and was a pastry cook at Randolph Air Force Base grade schools. Her hobbies included playing cards and dominos along with crafts. Gladys enjoyed the outdoors and spent her free time fishing and camping with her girls and family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. Jones; son, Donald J. Jones; grandson, Keith A. Reiser. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Barbara Kennedy and husband, Robert; Mary Sportsman and husband, Tex; Beverly Maxwell and husband, Hal; daughter-in-law, Joyce Jones; sister, Berneice Anderson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at the Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 9:30AM at The Country Church in Marion, Texas, with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
