passed away on March 8,2018 at the age of 70.
He was born on February 4,1948 in Vincennes, France, where he lived with his mother Claude
Rideau
. Gilles immigrated to the United States in 1958, and attended St. Michael's Catholic School in San Antonio.
Gilles graduated from La Salle High School where he excelled in football. He received a BA degree in Philosophy from St. Mary's University and a MA degree in Fine Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word.
After moving to Houston, Gilles created
GPR
Design Company that specialized in logos and marketing.
He was the head of the Graphics Department at Tenneco Oil Company for 10 years. He went to work in the graphics department at ExxonMobil in 1998. After 20 years of service, he retired on January 31, 2018.
Gilles was a painter, sculptor and an inspiration to would be artists. His kindness and open hearted nature was experienced by all who were fortunate to know him. His family and friends will miss him forever.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
