Gilbert O. Fey, born on November 16, 1924, passed away on August 18, 2011, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Fey, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Gilbert is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Vernell Fey; children, Gordon Fey & his wife, LeAnne, Glenn Fey & his wife, Tammy, Grace Strain and her husband, Jerry and Gail Deeley and her husband, Jonathan; sisters, Lillie John and Angela Jandt; grandchildren, Tammy Miller and her husband, Mark, Mindy Kollatschny and her husband, Jason, Stacie Boudreaux and her husband, Kevin, Heather Mazoch and her husband, Mitchell, Courtney Ellis and her husband, Jonathan, Charles Lampkin, Tamara Wilcox and her husband, David, Melissa Mendenhall and her husband, Wade and Jarred Deeley; great-grandchildren, Zhanna and Nadia Miller, Hannah and Ashton Kollatschny, Conner Ellis and Braden and Kaylee Mendenhall. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Schertz Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 16075 N. Evans Road, Selma, Texas 78154 at 1:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
