Gilbert Dewind

January 27, 1931 — May 16, 2016

Gilbert H. DeWind passed away on May 16, 2016, at the age of 85. Loving Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Married for nearly 60 years to his beloved wife and soulmate Lorraine. Not even death can destroy their love. He shall hold her ashes by his side for eternity...as they will be buried as one.

Gilbert is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He proudly served 37 years in the Government for our nation, 26 of these years were in the United States Air Force and 11 years in Civil Service.

Viewing and visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016 at the Schertz Funeral Home from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. Graveside Services will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11:30AM.
