George Vick

September 2, 1928 — November 2, 2019

George William Vick, Jr., born in Shelbyville, TN, Deacon of Good Shepherd Catholic Church (Retired) and resident of Schertz, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at the age of 91. In the presence of the Lord, he was reunited with so many loved ones that preceded him in death – his loving wife of 63 years, Ann; son, Andrew; mother, Sarah; father, George Sr.; sisters, Jean Nelson and Juanita Bryant; niece, Vonnie Marion; and countless relatives and close friends that were joyfully waiting for him. He was such a wonderful example for the Lord and lived his life as a faithful servant, loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his son, William and wife Tracy; grandsons, Hunter and Zachary; sister, Dorothy Radke, and countless family members and loved ones.

He loved service through his faith and church community, the Diaconate, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a Civil Service Retiree. He got to experience so many things in his life, but always remained humble and thankful for the Lord’s many blessings. He loved family, travel, golf, and the study of his family history. He was loved and cherished by all who knew him, and he will be missed and remembered. Dad, we love and miss you. You will forever be in our hearts. A Funeral Mass will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Friday, November 15, 2019, at 1:00 PM.

“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek him in his temple.” – Psalms 27:4
