George Amen, Jr.

George H Amen, Jr., 88, passed away on July 4, 2022 after a long illness. He was born July 13th, 1933 in San Antonio to George Amen Sr and Dana Goodnight. A graduate of Fox Tech High School in 1952. Attended college at TX A&M/Corpus Christie. Also, a stint in the Army. George retired civil service in 1995 where he was employed as a computer operator at Randolph Air Force Base. His wife of 57 years, Elizbeth Didesch, preceded him in death. George leaves behind his children, Katherine Jensen (Mark Jensen), Hank Amen (Sandy Coleman), George Amen III (Deana Frank), Dana Pinneo (Shaun Pinneo) as well as 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at Schertz Funeral Home on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 1:00 PM, with a Visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. The Graveside Service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM - Shelter #1.
