Gary Reid, Sr.

December 14, 1937 — October 1, 2010

Retired SFC Gary Wayne Reid, Sr died suddenly October 1, 2010 at the age of 72. Gary was born December 14, 1937 in Summerlee, West Virginia and currently resided in Selma, TX. Gary spent 20 years honorably serving in the United States Army in the Medical Corp as well as Special Services, primarily as a golf pro. After retirement from the U.S. Army, Gary raised his family and lived and worked in Las Vegas, NV for 32 years. Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly Reid; their 4 children: Pamela Reid McGregor, Kathy Reid Bunker, Gary Wayne Reid Jr, and Angela Reid Lucero; 14 grandchildren: Meghan, John Sterling, Stewart and Arthur McGregor; Blake, Kenady, Dylan and Easton Bunker; Connor, Carly, and Coy Reid; Derrick, Amanda and Dustin Lucero; 1 brother: William Howard Reid III; and 1 sister: Shirley Ann Reid Bain. Viewing and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 2:00pm for the viewing and 3:00 for the funeral service at: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 13201 Forum Road Universal City, TX 78148 Flowers may be sent to Schertz Funeral Home 2217 Roy Richards Dr. Schertz, TX 78154 in care of Gary Reid. Gary was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
