Gary Middleton

Gary D. Middleton, age 70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10th with his family by his side after a valiant fight against heart disease. Gary was a gifted, tireless educator for more than 45 years, teaching both university and high school mathematics. In addition he tutored privately and worked with mathematically gifted youths in the Judson School District. He grew up in Morton, TX, the son of Jim and Dora Velma (Zuber) Middleton and brother of Steve Middleton. He was a multi-talented man; mathematician, teacher, composer, author, musician, athlete, and professional golfer. Gary was the much-loved husband of Jacqueline, loving father of son Darin and stepdaughter Meghan, and the beloved Grandpa to granddaughters Kenady, Aysia Leigh, and Arden. He was a compassionate humanitarian with a personal calling to help to others achieve and had a love of all animals and nature. He had a special place in his heart for all beings and things in nature negatively affected by any human. Gary is survived by his wife Jacqueline; children, Darin and Meghan; daughter-in-law, Holly; granddaughters Kenady, Aysia Leigh, and Arden; and brother Steve. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 13th, at Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Garys honor to Love for Paws Rescue online at www.loveforpawsrescue.com, where he adopted his two grateful dogs, Buster and Charlie, who will miss him more than we can know.
