Frederick Rowell

August 9, 1938 — May 10, 2014

Frederick "Freddy" Walter Rowell, born on August 9, 1938, passed away on May 10, 2014, at the age of 75. Freddy was self-employed and owned businesses in Schertz, Texas for many years. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, fishing, gardening, baking, and "stirring the pot," but his biggest joy was spending time with the grandkids and mutzi. His parents, Russell and Helen Rowell, granddaughter, Randa, and brother, Bobby Rowell, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, May Stewart Rowell; children, Stewart Rowell and his wife, Rebecca, Tammy Johnson and her husband, Jody, and Jeannie Rowell; grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband, Allan, Casey, Carlie, Dillon, Justin and his wife, Brandi, Stephanie and her husband, Sean, and Katherine; great-grandchildren, AJ, Raelynn, and 3 more on the way; sister-in-law, Kathy Rowell. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 5:00PM - 9:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 1:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home, Pastor Joe Walts officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Freddy's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 12672 Silicon Drive, Suite 105, San Antonio, Texas 78249.
