Frederick Friesenhahn

Frederick "Freddy" James Friesenhahn passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2018 in Cibolo, Texas. Freddy was born March 7, 1942 to Richard and Hedwig Friesenhahn of Cibolo, Texas.

Freddy was raised on the Friesenhahn Family Farm in Cibolo and graduated in 1960 from Schertz-Cibolo High School. He married the love of his life, Nancy Gleitz in 1964 and proudly served in the Texas Army National Guard. He worked at Pearl Brewery in San Antonio for 35 years and took pride in every aspect of his career. His passion was raising cattle and tending to his farm in Cibolo, Texas. Freddy was an avid hunter and outdoorsman known to have hunted from West Texas to South Texas .

"Friendly Freddy", never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with a firm handshake.

Freddy was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Hedwig Friesenhahn and sibling, Marilyn Lander. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Nancy Gleitz - Friesenhahn; his sons Troy Friesenhahn, wife Kay, Todd Friesenhahn, wife Shanan and his daughter Tammy Friesenhahn-Smith, husband Bryan; as well as 5 grandchildren, Collin, Courtney, Tanner, Kendal and Clarissa. He is also survived by his siblings, Jane Tudyk, Janet Foerg, Alice Weiss, Loretta Kramm and Lorraine Hedges, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 1:00pm followed by the Funeral Mass 1:30pm, all services will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX. The interment will follow at the St Joseph's Cemetery in Comal, TX. The family will receive friends after the interment from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Blue Bonnet Palace in Selma, TX, for a celebration of Freddy's Life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Freddy's name can be made to Guadalupe County Wildlife Management Association, 210 E Live Oak, Seguin, Texas 78155
