On June 8, 2020 Fred W. Molter died peacefully at the age of 82 at his home in Comal County, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Herman Molter.
He was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas where he attended school. He graduated from St. Marys University with Bachelor of Science degree in Geology.
During his final year at St. Mary’s, he met and married Peggy Molter. They have been married for almost 60 years.
When he graduated from college in 1960, he worked as a geologist in the Permian Basin in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico.
During this time, Fred and Peggy’s first two children were born.
He moved on to another job with Tobin Aerial Surveyors and moved his family to Athens, Tennessee. And finally settled in San Antonio, where he started a new position as a loan officer for a local savings and loan, where He and Peggy had the last two children, Patricia and Paul.
His family enjoyed camping, fishing & travelling the US. He was avid outdoors man, enjoying hunting and fishing with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Peggy, his children Jeanette Kirby and husband Carl, Mike Molter and wife Liffin, Patricia Neuman, Paul Molter and wife Susy; his brother Donald H. Molter. And his eleven grandchildren Jonathan Kirby, Christopher Kirby, Jennifer Kirby, Nicole McBride, Joshua Molter, Jacob Neuman, Abby Neuman, Benjamin Neuman, Noah Neuman, Asher Neuman, Ethan Molter. And two great grand children Madalynn Kirby and William (Max) Kirby. And nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas, with a Rosary being recited at 9:30am. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers you may provide donations to Fred’s home church, OLPH Catholic Church.
