Fred Adams
March 2, 1933 — August 2, 2013
It is with a heavy heart that we announce our father, Retired Air Force NCO Fred Adams, passed away on August 2, 2013. Our father was born in Ghent, Kentucky on March 2, 1933. He lived 80 glorious and wonderful years. He will be greatly missed by anyone who had the privilege and the honor of knowing him. He was a kind, loving man with a glorious sense of humor, and a generous heart. Our father would not hesitate to lend a hand to anybody at any time. He exemplified what a father and a friend are and should be, impartial and nonjudgmental. He was strong, he was stern, he was honest, he was fair, he was loving, he was Dad. He loved crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble, which he hated to lose at and he rarely did, he loved to argue politics and always told wonderful stories from what it was like when he was growing up with his four brothers. Our father had many blessings through his years. He will be joining his loving wife of 38 years Betty, his brother Melvin, his brother Marvin, his mother Ada, and his father Martin who preceded him in death. He was blessed with many loved ones who survive him, Debbie (his oldest daughter) and her husband, Billy; Jeff (his son) and his wife, Karen; Sandra (his youngest daughter) and her husband, John; grandchildren, Kris, Adam and his wife, Jennifer; Samantha (Debbie), Ashley, Jeffrey, Alex (Jeff), Chase, Madison, Emily (Sandra and one great-grandchild, Vyolette (Kris); two brothers, Tom and Eddie. He also had the privilege and the honor to be a father/grandfather to four stepchildren and their families who he loved as his own. Our father will live eternally in our hearts. Dad, we will miss you and would like to simply say We love you and thank you. We will receive friends and family at Schertz Funeral Home on Wednesday night, August 7, 2013 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM. Graveside service will be Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 2:00PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United Air Force honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8115 Datapoint Dr., San Antonio, TX 78229.
